Bulletproof Templates have released two versions of the Joomla 1.5 Blank Skeleton template:- one that outputs XHTML code and is almost tableless, and the other that outputs HTML code containing tables. Please feel free to download the template most suited to your needs from below.

The skeleton templates are exactly what they say on the tin - Blank Joomla 1.5 templates intended to provide the basic layout for a Search Engine Optimised (SEO) SOURCE ORDERED template. In the spirit of Joomla 1.5 and open source these templates are released under the same GPL/GNU License as Joomla itself.
The templates share the following features:


Tableless Validating XHTML/CSS based layout

Collapsible left and right columns
Sixteen collapsible module positions
Suckerfish dropdown menus
Suckerfish flyout left column menus
Suckerfish flyout right column menus
Parent menu item marking with CSS (not msie6)

There are some msie6 specific style rules / hacks which do not validate. These have been moved to an ie6 specific stylesheet
There is a clearfix CSS declaration which does not validate due to the inline-block declaration and (again moved to a specific stylesheet for css clearing rules) there are several warnings due to the fact that background colours have deliberately not been declared - these in themselves do not invalidate a css stylesheet and should be organically removed once the skeleton is fleshed out.

The template skeleton-template-tableless also includes the HTML overrides folder from the default beez template. I found myself adding this folder to save a little time when clients request tableless output.
